at Calvary Community Church, Kailu-Kona.

Date: April 2010 Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri, Saturday

Time: 9 a.m. till 4 p.m.

Daily Schedule: Barefoot Lomi Lomi on the mat in the morning and Hawaiian Lomi Lomi on the massage table in the afternoon. Lauhala weaving, Haku Lei making, and Tapa design printing for Kihei/Pareu.

The Amy Greenwell Gardens is an excellent place to learn Lomi  Lomi in the environment in which it was born. The plants and trees in the gardens are used for medicine, food, and crafts.

Because we believe true Hawaiian Lomi Lomi was never just a Spa massage but for healing we have the students practice on people from the community at 3 p.m. on Friday and at 2 p.m. on Saturday. In old Hawaii people gave fish, vegetables, handicrafts things they made or gathered in exchange for their treatments.

At Calvary Community Church in Kailua-Kona, this is done as a ministry to help the senior citizens, injured and those in pain who cannot work. Those who come who are able to donate for their healing sessions, the money is put into the benevolent fund for our poor, orphans, and widows, we do not use this money for Church donations, the Church makes no profit from this. Church members pay tithe and offerings each Sunday to operate the Church. Our classes are not a business of the Church. We only use the facilities as a community service.

This is a beginners class so no experience is required.

Hawaiian Lomi Lomi consist of 4 principals:

1. Pule/prayer, trust in Divine Power for healing and guidance. O Ka Haku wale no hiki ho'ola ana.

We do a lot of praying in our class.

2. Ho'oponopono, to make right and forgive.

We have ho'oponopono sessions led by a Native Hawaiian Kahu/Pastor to help resolve any problems that will prevent you from loving unconditionally.

3. Aloha, Alo=Divine presence, HA=the breath of life, when we love one another unconditionally we breath the very breath of God life.

O ke aloha ka i oe a'e, maluna o na mea a pau. Love is above all things, we are encouraged to love one another everyday.

4. Ho'oma'ema'e, cleansing internally and emotionally. Na'au is the Hawaiian word for colon/large intestine and for the soul or heart. Cleansing the body of toxins through colon cleanse, steam bath, or infrared sauna is one of the pathways of detoxification/cleansing the body. Kapu Kai is to go down to the ocean and cleanse oneself physically and spiritually, but most important is to rid the mind and heart of stressful thoughts through meditation of whatsoever things are good, noble, love, true and beautiful.

We encourage you to do a Sea Water cleanse early in the morning before you come to class. We will provide you with the Sea Water obtained 3000 feet below the ocean with all the great trace elements.

You will be given good nutritional food doing the day to encourage you to eat a healthy diet of fruits and vegetables. No sodas or coffee, we have Hawaiian Mamaki tea, Jamaica Hibiscus tea and water.

We have our Native Hawaiian Kahu/Pastor take the students down to the ocean and do a Kapu Kai cleansing.

You will get a certificate of completion that is recognized by the Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Association.

We provide lunch, drinks, and snacks each day.

You will need to get your own breakfast and dinner at Manago Hotel or at the Choice Mart shopping center next door to the gardens.

Student clinic on Friday and Saturday to practice what you have learned on Senior citizens of the area. Followed by a Paina dinner to celebrate completion on Saturday at 4 p.m.
